Call Stacking FAQ
Talkroute’s call stacking is a unique technology that is typically only available with expensive enterprise-level phone systems. Other competing services without this feature will forward a call to a device (cellular, home, or office) but once the allotted number of “rings” has been reached, the call is disconnected.
Talkroute allows users to have multiple callers on hold at any given time. These callers are forwarded to your device(s) in the order the calls were received by your phone system. While your callers are on hold, they may listen to hold music or a custom message that you recorded or uploaded. If your callers are being forwarded to multiple devices, the devices that are not currently in use will begin to receive the next caller in line.
You may further specify the maximum hold duration, time between connection attempts, and call destination if the hold duration is exceeded.
Call stacking is already active with your Talkroute service. There is nothing you need to do other than specify what you want callers to hear while they are on hold, maximum hold duration, time between connection attempts, and call destination if the hold duration is exceeded.
There are no limits to how many calls you can receive at once as long as your usage complies with our reasonable use policy. If you are concerned that your usage might be outside of what is covered by our RUP, please feel free to request a high usage quote.
Yes! Talkroute includes a library of music on hold files to choose from or you may record or upload your own.
All of your Talkroute phone numbers, menu options, and extensions each have their own unique call stacking queues. These queues will stack callers in the order that they entered the queue and will route the calls based on the rules you have specified.
