A Summary of RingCentral
RingCentral is a cloud-hosted phone system for small businesses, as well as for large enterprises. Some of the features they offer are similar to those of Talkroute, but it is a different kind of service.
RingCentral focuses on integrating all forms of communication for an office, attempting to centralize fax, phones, SMS, video calls, and all kinds of applications into a single platform.
What’s the difference between RingCentral and Talkroute?
• Phone Connection/Network: RingCentral connects calls using VoIP service that relies on your Internet connection, whereas Talkroute connects calls via the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), using the networks of your existing phones.
• Services: Talkroute and RingCentral similarly provide a cloud-hosted PBX; however, RingCentral can require adding equipment to integrate with your existing system. Talkroute provides a 100% virtual phone system that requires no additional equipment.
What makes Talkroute better than RingCentral?
No Equipment Necessary To use RingCentral, customers may have to purchase or rent phones, special network adapters, and IP phones and routers must be properly configured before using. Talkroute does not require customers to purchase any new equipment, or to make any service changes to existing phones. Talkroute works with landlines, cell phones, or any other phone with active service.
Vanity Numbers Although both RingCentral and Talkroute offer vanity numbers, RingCentral charges extra for this service. Talkroute users may request a vanity number at no additional charge, and the support team with perform an advanced search to find a vanity number that matches your specific criteria.
Support Team RingCentral’s support representatives are based in different locations and overseas, but the Talkroute support team is based in Chicago, IL, where customers can reach them 24/7.
Reliable Connection RingCentral relies on the user’s Internet connection to connect calls, which can cause sound quality and reliability issues. As Talkroute connects calls using the existing networks of your phones, instead of a VoIP system, the connection and sound quality are far more reliable.

What have Talkroute customers said about the service?
“We have been using Talkroute for a few months and it has been awesome. We are able to take calls in or out of the office. We also assign phone numbers to different properties and can assign special recorded messages to each number that callers hear when they dial them. For example, when a caller sees a ‘For Sale’ sign and dials the Talkroute number, they get details on the house and showing dates/times. They can even leave a message for a callback if they want more info. Overall it has been great and is definitely boosting our business. 10/10”

“Fantastic! Talkroute was exactly what we were looking for. After spending 3x as much with RingCentral, we decided to make the move to Talkroute. The best part is that we can actually hear our clients clearly now with the Talkroute app. RingCentral calls would always have a delay or just be dropped immediately… Their staff was also super helpful with getting everything set up the way we wanted it. Definitely 5/5 stars.”

“Our small business started using Talkroute in January of 2015 and it has been a great experience! Our customers are no longer receiving a busy signal during our busy times, and this has definitely allowed us to increase sales. If you have a business and don’t want to purchase an expensive phone system, I highly recommend Talkroute!”
